Canopy Health, an innovative physician- and hospital-owned medical alliance, is expanding its network to include Dignity Health Medical Network — Sequoia and Sequoia Hospital, pending regulatory approval.
“Forging partnerships to increase access to quality care is a key component of our mission,” said Todd Strumwasser, MD, senior vice president of operations for Dignity Health Bay Area. “On the Peninsula, the quality of care provided by Sequoia Hospital and Dignity Heath Medical Network — Sequoia is unparalleled.”
Canopy Health, a Bay Area-based healthcare alliance, is adding 996 physicians, 3 hospitals, and dozens of ancillary providers. In addition to Dignity Health Medical Network - Sequoia, the group will include the Good Samaritan Health System, the physicians of Santa Clara County Individual Practice Association (SCCIPA) and Sequoia Hospital.
“Canopy Health is proud of its expanding alliance of top-rated hospitals and physicians,” said Canopy Health CEO Joel Criste in a statement. “... Expanding [our] relationship with Dignity Health in San Mateo creates access for patients circling the Bay, giving our members even greater access to trusted hospitals and specialists. We believe this expansion will help our members’ wellness and facilitate improved health outcomes.”
These additions will require the approval of the Department of Managed Health Care.
