Think of a PCP as a personal coach who knows your individual health needs, keeps you up to date with exams and screenings, and coordinates with specialists if you need additional care.  

“Having a Primary Care Provider is important to managing your overall health and practicing disease prevention,” says Samantha Gove, FNP-C, a certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Dignity Health Mercy Medical Group. “Primary Care Providers can also help by providing referrals to dedicated specialty practices if needed.”

Dignity Health Mercy Medical Group and Dignity Health Woodland Clinic have been awarded Elite Status from America's Physician Groups (APG), the nation's leading professional association for accountable physician groups. The medical groups are two of just 70 organizations nationally to achieve Elite Status (the highest recognition) in 2023.

Elite Status is earned through participation in APG's Standards of Excellence Survey, which evaluates the coordinated care infrastructure and value-based care performance of the organization’s physician group members.
