The Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) has recognized three Dignity Health Medical Groups along with Dignity Health Medical Network in Santa Cruz (the largest network of independent physicians in Santa Cruz County) for providing high-quality care to Medicare Advantage patients in California. The IHA is a statewide nonprofit group committed to high-value care that improves quality and affordability for patients across the nation.

Through the AMP (Align. Measure. Perform.) program, IHA uses a transparent approach to measure comprehensive benchmarks and provide a reliable assessment of medical group performance. AMP examines 30 measures related to clinical quality, member experience and customer service.

In awarding the AMP honors, IHA leverages the measures and methodologies that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) uses to generate health plan star ratings. A 4.5-star designation recognizes a high level of Medicare Advantage quality achievement.

For measurement year 2019, IHA recognizes both Mercy Medical Group and Woodland Clinic Medical Group with the 4.5-star designation. Only 41 of 175 participating provider organizations achieved this performance level.

The IHA also recognizes those provider organizations that have succeeded at improving quality of care for Medicare Advantage populations. Dignity Health Medical Group – Inland Empire, Dignity Health Medical Network in Santa Cruz, Mercy Medical Group and Woodland Clinic Medical Group all received the Most Improved distinction for improving their performance by at least half a star.

For the AMP program, the IHA uses a subset of 14 clinical measures, ranging from breast and colorectal screenings to eye exams and blood sugar control for patients with diabetes to managing osteoporosis in women with a previous fracture.
