On Wednesday, October 9, 2019, elected officials and community leaders joined Dignity Health and Mercy Medical Group for the grand opening of their first medical group location in Citrus Heights. The 68,000-square-foot state-of-the-art medical office building will serve the growing medical needs of the community while improving access to quality care for residents.

“Our goal is to bring care close to home in the communities we serve, conveniently located where residents live, work, and shop,” said Mark Behl, CEO, Dignity Health Medical Foundation. “This new location further underscores our commitment to the health and wellbeing of Citrus Heights and we are excited to expand access to high quality care in this community.”

City and community leaders joined Dignity Health, Dignity Health Medical Foundation, and Mercy Medical Group, Inc. employees and providers as part of the ribbon cutting ceremony. The new care center is part of a more than $30 million investment in the community.

“The new Dignity Health Mercy Medical Group medical office building opening is a red letter day for Citrus Heights. They are providing needed medical services to residents of Citrus Heights and the surrounding communities,” said City of Citrus Heights Mayor Jeannie Bruins. “In addition, they are bringing high level jobs to our community. Dignity Health is a great addition to our city and I look forward to having them serve our community with high quality medical care for many generations.”

Located at 7115 Greenback Lane in Citrus Heights, the new three-story Mercy Medical Group Citrus Heights Medical Office Building has 126 exam rooms and features the latest technology along with a wide range of primary and specialty care services, Quest Lab, x-ray, and a café all conveniently located under one roof.

Medical services currently offered include family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, and palliative care. On November 18, the building will expand to include allergy, behavioral health, endocrinology, ophthalmology/optometry, pain management, and rheumatology. Dermatology is expected to be added in 2020.

“With this new building we wanted to enable an exceptional patient experience in an environment that supports the highest quality care, delivered by an engaged and connected care team of clinicians and staff,” said Jill Walsh, MD, pediatrician and site medical director at Citrus Heights for Mercy Medical Group. “Our structure and physical space are all designed to increase access to high quality care and to enhance the patient and provider connection at every step.”

A free community open house is planned at the new building on Sunday, October 13 from noon to 2:30 p.m. As part of the event, attendees can take tours of the new clinic and participate in a number of fun events for the whole family including a Kids Kindness Corner, meet the Citrus Heights Police SWAT team and K-9 unit, Sadie the therapy horse, and more.
