Dignity Health Medical Foundation (DHMF), which operates 15 medical groups and imaging centers and more than 124 clinic locations across California, announced that Katherine Manuel has joined the organization as Chief Operating Officer.
“Katherine is an innovative leader with a strong background in integrated delivery systems and clinical operations,” said Mark Behl, MHA, MBA, CEO at Dignity Health Medical Foundation. “I am pleased to have her join our leadership team and I am confident that she will play a key role in our efforts to deliver an exceptional experience in the communities we serve.”
Manuel has 27 years of leadership experience with large multi-specialty medical groups. Prior to this role, Manuel was COO for Sutter Gould Medical Foundation and Palo Alto Medical Foundation, Santa Cruz division.
As COO of DHMF, Manuel will be responsible for strategic management and oversight of enterprise-wide operational support positions, departments, and service lines. This includes designing and implementing business plans, setting goals for performance and growth, collaborating with hospitals and physician groups, and developing systems that prioritize the delivery of high quality patient-centric care.

Manuel received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Care Management from San Jose State University and her Master of Arts in Organizational Management/Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
As the daughter of a sailor and wife of a soldier, Manuel and her husband actively participate in a number of activities to support our veterans. She is also an active board member for the Association for Manufacturing Excellence, the nation’s largest Lean network.
